TITLE + Socialight
TEAM + the people at Kamida
DESCRIPTION + Socialight lets you use your cell phone to put
virtual "sticky notes" anywhere in the real world. The notes you
create can include text, images, and other media. You can make notes available to the public or to just a
specific group of friends. When you travel across a spot where someone has
left a sticky note, your cell phone buzzes and displays the note that was
left there. You can respond
directly to whoever left the note, or leave a note of your own for someone
else to discover.

TITLE + Nike Battleground
TEAM + Buckla
DESCRIPTION + Tapped to create a TV spot for the pro model Kobe Bryant basketball shoe, BUCKLA demonstrated how 3D and motion capture technology can still look low-fi and hand drawn while taking advantage of the dimension and depth that modeling in maya Maya and compositing in After Effects can achieve together. The spots are absolutely beautiful despite the rough-hewn, sketchy, urban look. The camera movement and pacing allows for some cool perspective while maintaining focus on the shoe, even while the character is in motion. Love the white eyeballs....I always knew Kobe was a soulless machine capable of inhuman feats but this brings the point home yet again.

TITLE + America's Biggest Dick
TEAM + Dangerous Squid
DESCRIPTION + Dick Cheney is really funny. But when you mashup his speech at the Republican Convention with audio of Al Pachino from Scarface the result is outrageously hilarious, and strangely mesmerizing.

CATEGORY + ONLINE OFFICE
TITLE + Zoho
TEAM + the people at AdventNet
DESCRIPTION + Take all of your typical office apps - word processing, spreadsheets,
to-do lists, chat and email, and put them in one website. All of the
apps are roughly as good as their Microsoft counterparts, at least in
terms of basic functionality - and appear to be miles ahead in terms of
collaboration (editing stuff as a group, which creatives absolutely
love!). What's the point, when you already have all this software,
right? The point is, this is the direction software is headed - and if
it isn't Zoho, it'll certainly by Microsoft, and it'll be sooner rather
than later. We won't be installing processor-intensive software - we'll
be logging into bandwidth-hogging online applications. Check this site
out to see the future.
